Well, my annual trip up to the Washington/Oregon boarder to the Gorge Amphitheater for the Sasquatch Music Festival was once again a success. My love for live music is undoubtedly the main draw to this Memorial Day Long Weekend of music mayhem, but, I must admit, the people watching ain’t bad either. And this time around, I took it upon myself to people watch like I’ve never people watched before, and man oh man am I glad I did.

Off stage, we had superheros (batman was my favorite), full body green spandex and head to toe gold sequins… as you can imagine, you had no choice BUT to stare at these people. As for the rest of the crowd, I found it interesting how I was able to lump the majority into 3 main style categories, which I have aptly named: The Fluorescent Extremists, The Indie Plaid Gang, The Tie Dye Peace Core. I can’t help but wonder if their love for fluorescent, plaid and tie dye is just a weekend fad, or if they actually sport these looks at home in their day to day life. I’m going out on a limb here, but I’m thinking the fluorescent and tie dye outfits get packed up until next year.

On stage, we may not of had the outrageous outfits, but there was a common theme… yup, you guessed it… (or maybe you didn’t, but I’m telling you anyways)… GLASSES! I’m talken’ aviator sunglasses, wayfarer sunglasses, geek chic eyeglasses… I mean, the entire band of Broken Social Scene was sporting specs, and not just any regular specs! Check them out…

Aviators, clear acetate, classic wayfarer –this band sure does love their shades. OK Go (pictured far right) also has a thing for one of a kind specs…
